Fear of Flying
Cure your fear of flying with hypnotherapy and CBT
I thought I would never see my daughter again after she emigrated to Australia – thanks to you I have conquered my fear of flying and my dreams have become a reality. – Mrs PJ, Tunbridge Wells
Clinical hypnotherapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
Your fear of flying need not keep you grounded. We use a combination of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and clinical hypnosis to unweave your irrational thoughts.
Treatment begins with an initial pre-treatment assessment. This session allows us to understand you and your fear of flying. We look for the underlying causes that sustain your fear. You will then be treated over the course of (typically) 4 sessions, each lasting 1 hour.
Why is CBT and hypnotherapy successful at treating fear of flying?
Combined CBT and hypnotherapy, known as cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy, works on several levels. CBT encourages you to recognise that your thoughts are irrational and that your thoughts directly influence your emotions and behaviours.
By adding hypnosis to this approach we address conscious and subconscious anxieties around flying.
The power of the therapeutic relationship
The therapeutic relationship between the therapist and you is crucial in achieving success. At the Apex Practice you will be treated individually and not in a group context. This therapeutic alliance underpins and encourages your motivation.
