Bereavement
Rational emotive behaviour therapy & clinical hypnotherapy – coming to terms with Bereavement
Losing our son has been an enormous tragedy – we know that time is a great healer, but we are so grateful for the support you have given us during these very difficult times. – Mr and Mrs JT, Uxbridge
Healing commences when you attend for a pre-treatment comprehensive assessment. At this session we will sympathetically assess your emotional pain in relation to the loss of your loved one. We will take into account the history and circumstances of your relationship and the role the deceased played in your life.
We will then prepare a therapy programme that will address these issues and bring about a full recovery. We will treat you with a combination of Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy and Clinical Hypnotherapy. These sessions will be at weekly intervals.
Why is REBT and clinical hypnotherapy successful in helping you cope with bereavment?
REBT will encourage you to start thinking more positively about yourself, others and life in general. You will learn that it is not events, people or situations that disturb you but the interpretation that you choose to place upon them. Clinical hypnotherapy will encourage you to express your feelings of denial, guilt and anger. Through discussion and explanation the therapy will allow you to come to terms, albeit, even much later with the loss of a loved one.
About bereavement
Bereavement is a normal reaction to the loss of someone close to you. However, for some people the loss of a loved one can appear to be irreconcilable. Bereavement is often responsible for depression and other associated emotional disorders. In such cases depression hinders the mourning process due to the suffering of an unresolved grief reaction.
