About Nail Biting

Nail biting is an extremely common and often isolated habit which occurs most frequently during childhood and adolescence although it often extends into adulthood. While in itself the habit is of no great importance, it can serve as an outlet for tension. In many instances nail biting can be an anxiety response, associated with feelings of insecurity and sometimes of repressed hostility.

Nail biting is an ‘subconscious’ behaviour. You do it without even noticing. So when you make a conscious decision to stop nail biting nothing happens – the cure has to happen in a different way. The decision to stop biting your nails has to take place at a subconscious level, through hypnotherapy.
